Back to Crossfit

It has been a crazy year and a half. I've done MMA 2-3x/week, and I picked up hip-hop dance once a week during the academic year. I follow a Paleo diet. The thing is that I still miss Crossfit. My form for lifting sucks because I haven't been doing Crossfit regularly. So, I decided to do Crossfit bootcamp. Thirty days to get my ass ready to go. Day 1 Run 200 meters 15, 12, 9 (3 sets) Air squats, push ups, sit ups Run 200 meters It was pouring out, so I used the treadmill 10 min 39 sec

Lazy to post, but not lazy to work out

I've been really busy these past two weeks. Rest assured that I have been grappling 2-3x/week. The chiropractor is happy with my neck decompression progress, so I am looking forward to adding Crossfit (or Crossfit Light) back into my routine. Stay tuned for my workouts in 2011.

Last night was a good one

I was able to grapple again last night. In fact, the chiropractor said that my neck is looking good. Alec paired me with Bryan again. Bryan is great. He's always looking to make the moves better or to teach me how to be more effective. He's patient and never has an issue when he's paired with me, the chick! Anyway, I am soooo bruised. My toes, my knees, and yes, even my BUTT! I am so happy though. Nothing compares to grappling!

I found out during the break that the one other chick who grappled on days when I was not there was embarrassed to tell people that she grappled. In fact, she only does kickboxing now. C'mon ladies....we want men to respect us. Think about it - how many professors grapple? What do you think the other professors think of me? The truth is that I couldn't care less what they think. As for every day life....Don't get me wrong, I like when men think I'm hot. HOWEVER, not taking your grappling seriously or being embarrassed makes it worse for those of us who are really into it. Stick with your kickboxing if that's what you're comfortable with. Stop with the stupidity.

Ok, that's my b*tch for the day. Gotta get back to my after-grapple peace....

Dars chokes and full nelsons

Ah yes...another day of grappling. Today was awesome. I was paired up with Tom, who is amazingly patient. He was trying to explain to me how to improve my throws and Alec started screaming "Stop talking. Just do!" I don't know why, but I find it really funny when he makes fun of me. It's like it motivates me more. That must be why he does that. :)

Back to life...back to reality

I went back to grappling class today. I friggin' love it. I get a sense of peace and calm afterwards. Nothing compares! (Sorry crossfit.) What's better than spending and hour or so rolling around with tough guys and getting out aggression. Did I mention that I am rolling around with FIT guys? :) Anyway....

New Year's Resolutions

Ok, so I have been working out but not blogging. I suffered a sprained ankle in August 2010, and after three months of not grappling (lifting instead), I started again and threw out my back on a train ride to NYC. Well, I've been to the chiro, just ran/walked the Resolution Run 2011, and I'm ready to grapple on Tuesday.
