Not for women? Like hell!

I went to grappling class today.  We had a sub - a really great judo master (and he seems to be a very gentle nice person).  All was well, although I was a bit off of my game - was too busy letting personal shit get in the way of my workout (BAD, THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN).  Anyway, at the end of class, the sub, an old-fashioned Russian guy says that I should do judo, and I said, "ok, maybe after my grappling class."  Then he said, "GRAPPLING CLASS IS FOR MEN."  Are you fucking kidding me?  Should I just give up my PhD and either be a secretary or find some rich man to support me while I shop and play tennis?  Isn't science for men too?

The few...the proud...the grapplers

Took my grappling class last night.  Had to reverse Oleg, who must weight close to 200 lb of solid muscle.  It was a good workout.  Most of the guys went to the boxing class.  It was ok though because we went through basic techniques.

Gotta do my crossfit this weekend.  I miss it.

Back to my first love - crossfit!

Since grappling/MMA is kicking my ass, I switched back to crossfit for today.  Man, have I missed the true crossfit.

Need to work on overhead press.  Weight kept shifting on right side.

Holy crap!

I went to grappling class last night. I was hurting - I mean REALLY hurting. I never give up, but I have to tell you that doing weighted squats after the class (we do many lunges) really messed me up. So that means, no more weighted squats until I get used to the routine.

The class is great, but I keep getting paired up with new guys who don't know anything. They tend to stop and not give it their all. I told Oleg to pair me up with someone tough - I need my ass kicked. Many of these guys are in their 20's and I want to keep up. You're only as old as you feel. So, we'll see what happens on Monday.

Started front squat at 75#  felt a pull in my leg/groin  continued at 65#

I went to my grappling class last night. Awesome workout! Was still the only chick there. I actually like being the only chick there!!!! Anyway, got into the cage with Pietro. Did ok, but got thrown. Am pissed at myself. Need to work harder....

Softy on weights

So, my body still hurts from Friday.  I am feeling so old.  I wish that I was still in my 20's - why wasn't I doing this then?  I was at Family Fitness doing aerobics and weight machines and girly things!  Anyway....

Bench  75#  (eased up b/c had some kind of mental break last time!)  no problem!  8, 6, 4

Hurtin' but not stoppin'

I have been really sick. My workout schedule has suffered, but when the season changes, my health gets messed up. So, anyway, yesterday I started my grappling class with Oleg. Holy shit did I feel the burn....I am still feeling the burn. My goal is three grappling classes and 4 half weight work outs per week. Let's see what happens. Tonight, I am exhausted, so the hope is that tomorrow I do a full weight workout....
